FCA sales figures in Europe 2019


In 2019, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles posted European sales of 946,600 vehicles with market share at 6.0%

December closed positively for FCA with sales up 13.8% year-over-year to more than 69,400 vehicles. The Fiat brand, in particular, posted a strong performance for the month, with sales increasing 25.4%

By model, full-year sales were up 9.2% for the Fiat Panda, 9.9% for the Jeep Renegade, 30.8% for the Jeep Cherokee, 7.9% for the Jeep Wrangler and 21.0% for the Lancia Ypsilon

December sales increased 20.5% year-over-year for the Fiat 500, 10.9% for the Fiat Panda, 65.2% for the Fiat Tipo, 8.0% for the Fiat 500X, 20.2% for the Fiat 500L, 295.8% for the Fiat Doblò, 147.15% for the Fiat Qubo and 30.0% for the Alfa Romeo Stelvio
 
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles closed 2019 with December sales in Europe up 13.8% year-over-year to more than 69,400 vehicles and market share at 5.5%. For the year, sales totaled nearly 946,600 vehicles with market share at 6.0%.

For the full year, results were particularly positive in Germany, where Group sales increased 4.4% and market share was 3.1%. In December, sales were up 23.3% in Spain (market share +0.6 pp to 4.3%), 29.6% in Germany and 35.6% in France (market share +0.2 pp to 3.9%).

Several FCA models posted increases for the year, including the Fiat Panda, Jeep Renegade, Jeep Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler. In December, sales were up year-over-year for the Fiat 500, Fiat Panda, Fiat Tipo, Fiat 500X, Fiat 500L, Fiat Doblò, Fiat Qubo and the Alfa Romeo Stelvio.

Fiat posted a 25.4% increase in December (significantly outperforming the market) with European sales totaling nearly 49,300 vehicles and market share up 0.1 percentage point to 3.9%. For the year, sales totaled nearly 660,000 vehicles and share was 4.2%.

In December, the brand posted increases in nearly every major market with sales up 2.9% in Italy, 32.1% in France, 41.6% in Germany and, in Spain, a 62.2% increase compared with 6.6% for the market overall.

The brand's leading models all posted strong results. Sales of the Fiat Panda were up 9.2% for the year to more than 185,100 vehicles and the model was leader in its segment with a share of 14.4%. Runner up in the segment was the Fiat 500, which posted a 20.5% increase in December with sales totaling 12,400 vehicles, and increasing 0.8 percentage point reaches 15.9%, its best ever market share outside Italy.

December results were also positive for the Fiat Tipo (sales up 65.2%) with a share of 2.5% (+0,2 percentage point) and best ever monthly sales outside Italy, Fiat 500X (+8.0%), Fiat 500L (+20.2%), Fiat Doblò (+295.8%) and Fiat Qubo (+147.15%).

Alfa Romeo posted a 1.0% increase in December with European sales totaling more than 4,100 vehicles.

2020 looks set to begin strong with the Stelvio posting a 30.0% year-over-year increase in December. For the year, brand sales totaled nearly 53,900 vehicles and market share was 0.3%.

Following several years of consecutive increases, Jeep brand posted sales of more than 167,000 vehicles for the year, substantially in line with its best annual performances in Europe. Market share was 1.1%.

In December, brand sales totaled more than 11,600 vehicles with market share at 0.9%. By major market, sales were up 0.3% for the month in the UK, 6.9% in Germany and 50.7% in France. For the year, sales were up 1.3% in the UK and 8.7% in Spain.

The increases were driven by the Renegade (+9.9% for the year), Cherokee (+30.8%) and Wrangler (+7.9%).

Lancia brand sales were up 20.6% for the year to 58,900 vehicles and market share was 0.1 percentage point higher at 0.4%. In December, sales totaled more than 3,900 vehicles and share was 0.3%.

The Ypsilon continued as one of the best-selling models in Italy - ranking second overall for the year - and was leader in the Italian B segment.
